How to Build a Hearth By Greg Simmons

We are in this photo absorbing the heat from the fire. So pretty and relaxing.

Greg putting the final touches on the fire and watching how it funtions with actual wood in it.

This was the hardest part applying the tile and grout. Greg took his time so that it does not crack in the future.

Greg started out using 4 peices of plywood, and then, 2 pieces of dry wall, then cement backer board. Greg measured the boards out according to the Blaze King guide standards for saftey. This way if our house burns down because of the stove the insurance company will not find a reason to not pay for the fire.

Wow. And to think we just went out and bought one! I bet you saved a lot of money doing that!
