Ruby's First Snow Go Ride
Ruby got her first snow go ride around the block with the neighbor's son John. Ruby really did not seem to know what to think. But she went anyways without a fuss. She probaly does not know what is going to happen yet, so she is calm and curious during this picture.
She is checking out the machine in this picture. This is a ski-doo skandic. Most people have these types of snow machines in Bethel because they are work horses and fun to ride. If we were to get a snow mobile, this is the one that we would buy. Were not going to buy one, because then we would have to use Moxy and Ruby's college fund to purchase one.
Ruby just got back from the ride and does not seem to thrilled, in fact seconds later she let out a quick cry for a hug.
John had fun on the snow machine. He took me and Ruby together on the snow-machine and Ruby seemed to like it even though she was not begging to get back on.
Ruby is getting a comfort hug from Dorothy.
Greg's Nirvana
I thought I would share a sampling of Greg's stereo sound. For the entire time that I have known Greg, he has been a stereo nut, and I have never quite understood his hobbie....until recently. He played me some Vaughn Williams on his stereo and it changed the whole way I viewed his system. It was amazing sound. I felt like I was in the middle of an orchestra. The stereo system that is shown on the video is a new invention in our house, even though I am positive other stereo nuts like Greg probaly set their stereo up the same way. We have speakers pointing out at us, and also pointing at the wall which creates depth of sound. This is not a joke there is really a difference in sound. Maybe someday he will get on the blog and explain it? He says he is going to take the other speakers down, because the set up is not pretty now. I like the sound that is coming out of the whole system so I am not in a hurry. I know Greg, I cannot beleive I just said that....:)

Sometimes They Really Don't Like the Camera in Their Face
Two Faces of Ruby
Ruby officially loves the sauce :). I think spagetti with lots of sauce seems to do the trick for eating her meal. I had fake "hamburger crumbles" from a oatmeal, walnut, almond, blackbean veggie type burger recipe. She didn't notice, and got some protein with the sauce. She likes her spagetti long and hard to get in the ol'mouth.
The all buisness face. Sporting some of her New Valentines clothing; jacket and socks.
gigantesque |ˌjīgənˈtesk|
From webster: adjective; like or appropriate to a giant!
I got so tired of running out of pure vanilla extract that I got a big bottle from my favorite baking store. I had no idea what I bought until it arrived. It is truley the biggest bottle of vanilla extract that I have ever laid my eyes upon. Bigger than the salt container. Probaly as big as a nalgene bottle.

The Light
I love light and have noticed that with December 21st passing, the cold winter in Bethel is getting lighter. Five minutes of more daylight added to the beginning and end of the day and inching toward the almost 24 hours of daylight during the summer months. Even though it is one of the coldest and snowiest winters, that extra light really makes a difference.
Blood Oranges
These are blood oranges from the organic farm. They would have been great for Halloween time. Very sweet and small like a tangerine, Ruby seems to like them a lot

Happy Valentines Day!
Greg Finally Got His Wish
Greg finally got the stereo cabinet that he had been looking for. Actually "we" finally got it, because we actually customized this piece on the Salamander Cabinet website. We couldn't get it though because of the price. Well Greg was looking at stuff on ebay and he came across the same cabinet that we put together on the website for 75 percent off the price. We bought it, and because they wouldn't ship to Alaska, we shipped it to Oregon where my dad painfully unboxed it just in case there were damages then custom boxed it and shipped it USPS to us! Thanks DAD!! It was like Christmas morning all over agiain. Greg was so excited that I thought his eyes were going to pop out of his head! We moved some shelves in to the living room to hide little kid toys and now it kind of looks like adults live in our house.
